I was thrilled to see this goldfinch when it showed up in my backyard this summer. A sighting here is rare in Central Oregon and I believe it has something to do with they type of forest we have here. They prefer the type of forest that is similar to type of forest in the Willamette Valley of Oregon.

I captured photos of him as he was eating from my feeder. He also enjoyed the water feature.
